Learning New Tricks for Proboards

OK here is the place to post ways to teach the rest of us NooBs how to do technically stuff on Proboards.

I'll start. If you want a link to a web page to appear in your message then you need to do this:

Well, you have to code the link as a URL, either by highlighting it and clicking on the picture of the globe in the "add tags" line above your message or just typing "url" is square brackets in front of the link and "/url" in square brackets after it. As you must have done, dragor, since you did indeed post a link.

I like the blank method, though; new to me.

However, when I attempt to explain the different components, by writing the code, Proboards takes it as an instruction rather than text. I want the prefix to turn the code off like we have on wiki.

Let's see if this works: Type an opening square bracket, then "url" followed by an equal sign (no space before or after) and the link you wish to post. Then type a closing square bracket and your special text, followed by "/url" within square brackets.

For example, to direct people to UD, type an opening bracket, then "url=" and then, with no intervening space, "http://www.urbandead.com/" followed by a closing bracket and whatever words you wish to use to flag it for people (say, "To get to UD") followed by "/url" within brax. You'll end up with this:

Not at all Big Strong,

This was the reason I started the board in the first place, so that we could all teach each other. We all have skills to offer each other.

As for the Lerwill Heights template for barricading/ Zs, I'll try to get around to it over the weekend here (Thursday, Friday).

correction not my forum its the forum of the clan wye
